WHO IS HONEY WEST?

Men believe she’s just a dumb blonde bombshell, but Honey West outsmarts them and criminals alike as a tough-talking master of martial arts. When her detective father is murdered, she is drawn into the world of a private investigator, and finds she can outwit any outlaw and outfight them too. Her one goal is to avenge her father’s death, and as she puts the bad guys away, she gets closer to the truth about how he died, and the trail of mystery draws her into the world of US Government black ops. The orphaned young woman takes on international warlords and proves that hell’s fury lies beneath a curvy figure and a face as sweet as Honey.

Honey West, a fictional character created by Gloria and Forest Fickling under the name "G.G. Fickling," first appeared in the 1957 novel This Girl for Hire. The series spanned a total of eleven novels and sold five million copies internationally through 1973. Actress Anne Francis won a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Honey West in the 1960s. The Honey West action figure, board game and album bearing her likeness are coveted among this cult-classic’s fans, as are the graphic novels based on the books. The novelists conceived her, at first, as a cross between Marilyn Monroe and Mike Hammer, and in later novels, she morphed into a female version of James Bond.
